Congratulations to the Blanche Lady Bulldogs and Highland Rim Hornets for claiming the county basketball tournament titles. Proud to have Meadows-Thompson Stadium press box in the banner up top. It carries the name of two great coaches, John Meadows and Louis Thompson. Traffic on the site continues to grow and I appreciate the support from the community.
Hornets win County Championship over Eagles
The Highland Rim Hornets finished in the top spot of the County Basketball Tournament for the second consecutive year.
The Hornets won over South Lincoln’s Eagles 49-33.
Lady Bulldogs win over Lady Eagles in championship
The Blanche Lady Bulldogs continue to make history. The ladies claimed their first ever county championship with a 48-37 win over South Lincoln’s Lady Eagles.
Stage set for County Championship tomorrow night.
The stage is set for the County Basketball Championship to be played at Ninth Grade Academy Tuesday night.
Tonight in the semifinals the Blanche Lady Bulldogs won over Unity's Lady Lions 48-24.
The Lady Dog's match up with South Lincoln tomorrow night getting underway at 6 p.m.
Falcons fall at home to Giles win over Eagles
The Falcons at Lincoln County High School went down Saturday at home to Giles Co. But a win over Shelbyville keeps the Falcons in the drivers seat for the district title.
The last time LCHS won the regular season was in 1996.
Speed School at LCHS
A Speed School is underway at Lincoln County High School. Girl and boy athletes, age 8 and up interested in increasing speed and agility are invited. The workout is open to everyone and is free.
If interested meet at Lincoln County High School’s gymnasium Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Lady Falcons win over Giles Co. Homecoming night.
Saturday night the ladies took on Giles Co. on Lincoln County’s basketball homecoming and finished on top 56-30.
The ladies never felt a threat from the Lady Bobcats up 12-5 at the end of the first and 28-8 at the intermission.
Tigers defeated by Community, 77-68
The Fayetteville High School Tigers went down in two games this week competing well in both.
Friday night the Tigers were defeated by Community 77-68. Tuesday FHS went down to Moore Co. 70-53.
FHS Lady Tigers edged by Community; fall to Moore.
Fayetteville High School’s Lady Tigers went down in a barn burner to Community Friday night 46-41.
Tuesday the ladies went down to the District 9A leading Moore Co. Lady Raiders 56-28.
First Round County Basketball Tournament
In the first round of the girls action in the County Basketball Tournament played at NGA; Unity's Lady Lions won over Flintville in overtime, 38-34. South Lincoln defeated Highland Rim, 33-25.
In boys action tonight Flintville defeated Blanche 36-10.
